In February 2006, at the Carnet urbain exhibition at Galerie Espace in Montreal, I shared my perspective through photography for the first time. I captured objects and surfaces in close-up, rendering them unrecognizable.
Visitors to the exhibition were surprised to discover that the works were photographs, not prints. Their astonishment was heightened when they learned the true nature of the images, whether damaged concrete, rust on a construction site, or even the inside of a waste container. Who takes the time to notice or fully appreciate these elements?
